The third edition of the "Good Antiquarian Bookstore"
Date of event: 20.09.2024 - 21.09.2024
On September 20-21, 2024 (Friday-Saturday), volunteers of the Youth Office of the Anna Dymna Foundation "Against the Odds" will organize the "Good Antiquarian Bookstore" for the third time at Galeria Bronowice. The items will include: fiction, poetry, children's literature, and even cookbooks or foreign language books - for both older and younger people. This year, there will also be poetry volumes available - published as part of the National Poetry Competition "Słowa, dobrze, że jesteś" - which include award-winning poems, along with works distinguished in the literary competition for doctors "Przychodzi wena do Lekarz".
The concept of the "Good Antiquarian Bookstore" is to give used books a "second life" and at the same time help our charges. Those willing to support our activities with any donation will be able to choose a book from the shelves of the antiquarian bookstore.
The funds collected will be used to support the functioning of the therapeutic and rehabilitation center for people with intellectual disabilities "Dolina Słońca" in Radwanowice near Krakow and to finance the construction, equipment and functioning of the respite center at the Occupational Therapy Workshops "Let's Meet" in Lubiatów on the Baltic Sea.
"Dobry Antykwariat" will be open - on Friday, September 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday, September 21, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The stand will be located on the ground floor of Galeria Bronowice in the "Pod ringiem" zone.
Donations during the campaign can be made in two ways: in cash - as part of public collection no. 2024/3268/OR, and cashless - using Donateo donation machines.
The Anna Dymna Foundation "Against the Odds" helps adults with intellectual disabilities, who are most at risk of social exclusion. It has built and runs two therapeutic and rehabilitation centers: "Dolina Słońca" in Radwanowice near Krakow and Occupational Therapy Workshops in Lubiatów on the Baltic Sea. It is currently creating a respite center on the Baltic Sea.
The "Against the Odds" organization also supports the treatment, rehabilitation and education of people with illnesses and disabilities. It carries out numerous projects aimed at removing mental barriers in society, e.g. the Enchanted Song Festival and the National Festival of Theatre and Musical Creativity of People with Intellectual Disabilities "Albertiana".
