"Good Antiquarian Bookstore” at Galeria Bronowice

The benefit of reading - the power of helping

On the last weekend of June (June 25-26, 2022), the volunteers of the Youth Office of the Anna Dymna Foundation "Despite All" are organizing "Good Antiquarian Bookstore" at Galeria Bronowice. Its shelves will offer a wide range of fiction, poetry, photo albums on various topics, children's literature, cookbooks. Everyone will find something for themselves.

In "Good Antiquarian Bookstore", used books will be given "a second life". Anyone who wants to support the foundation with any donation will be able to do so - as a thank you - choose a book for themselves. The collected funds will support the charges from the "Dolina Słońca" therapeutic and rehabilitation centre in Radwanowice and will be used to build and equip the retreat centre in Lubiatów.

- "Good Antiquarian Bookstore” " is a unique project on which our volunteers have been working since the beginning of May. They collected books, put them in order and made sure that visitors to Galeria Bronowice could take part in interesting workshops related to literature. The aim of the action is not only to popularize reading, but also to collect funds that will support our pupils. Our volunteers were also helped by the employees of friendly companies, who managed to collect and donate a lot of books to "Good Antiquarian Bookstore”. Holidays are approaching, so it’s worth thinking about a good book- encourages Karolina Baran, clerk for volunteer activities at the Anna Dymna "Despite All” Foundation.

The event will be accompanied by workshops related to literature and the world of books - people of all ages going to find something for themselves. During these days, it will be possible to support the Foundation in two ways: in cash, as part of the public fundraiser No. 2021/1775/OR, and non-cash using Donateo donate machines.

The main goal of the Anna Dymna "Against the Odds" Foundation is to help adults with intellectual disabilities, who are the most at risk of social exclusion. The Foundation has built and runs two therapeutic and rehabilitation centres: "The Valley of the Sun" in Radwanowice near Krakow and the Occupational Therapy Workshop in Lubiatów on the Baltic Sea. Currently, it is creating a respite centre on the Baltic Sea.

Moreover, the "Despite All" foundation supports the treatment, rehabilitation and education of sick and disabled people. It carries out numerous projects aimed at removing mental barriers in society, such as the Enchanted Song Festival, the "Albertiana" Festival of Theatre and Music Works of Disabled People or the Recovered Hopes Academy.
