YOUTH IN POLAND - post-workshop exhibition

Date of event: 29.10.2022 - 19.11.2022

In July, as part of the Kulturystyka project of the Academy of Fine Arts, the Polish-Ukrainian workshop of YOUTH IN POLAND was held, which was devoted to the heritage of Young Poland. From October 29, we would like to invite you to an exhibition presenting the result of these extraordinary meetings with the artistic spirit of the era. The opening of the exhibition will take place on November 3 at 6:00 p.m. at the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bronowice.

YOUTH IN POLAND are workshops designed with creation and integration in mind. The meetings were aimed at acquainting young participants from Poland and Ukraine with Polish heritage - they presented the influences of the culture of the past and showed their importance in the modern world. The title of the event, although it referred to Young Poland - the era that we got to know as part of our activities, was also a kind of greeting young guests in the country, and more broadly - new audiences in the world of art.

Each of the workshop days concerned a different artistic issue. We have prepared, among others herbaria: we drew plants from nature, and then - using the method used by Stanisław Wyspiański - the results of these works were transferred to the wall using the spolvero technique. The result of the plein-air in Rydlówka - a branch of the Krakow Museum, were sketches which the young artists later transferred to canvases, creating a multi-coloured painting expression. We also learned the technique of creating stained glass and, with the joint efforts of all workshop participants, we recreated the stained glass window "God the Father - Arise" by Stanisław Wyspiański.

These and many other results of our artistic meetings will be presented during the post-workshop exhibition, which will open at the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bronowice on October 29. The opening of the exhibition will take place on November 3 at 6.00 p.m.

The author of the workshops was Izabela Biela, the classes were prepared and conducted by Izabela Biela and Margarita Vladimirova (responsible for the activities under the Kulturystyka ASP project), as well as Ewa Dyga and Dorota Burtan - students of Artistic Education at the Academy of Fine Arts. The workshops were attended by 20 children - from Poland and Ukraine (thanks to the cooperation with the Wolno Nam Foundation). The workshops were created as part of the "Found. Beauty in time and space ”implemented under the Culture program, Action 2: Improving access to culture and art, EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
