Workshops "Stretch with Jan" at Galeria Bronowice

Date of event: 04.12.2021 - 18.12.2021

The Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow is launching a series of workshops "Stretch with Jan". The Academy of Fine Arts in cooperation with Galeria Bronowice invites participants aged 6-12 to participate in creative and artistic activities with tradition and modernity at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

Workshops for children aged 6-12 take place from October to December and are the first cycle introducing participants to the basic issues of visual arts. The workshops relate to the artists, exhibitions and activities of the Academy and are conducted by its educators. The series of meetings will be a unique opportunity to play and expand the resources of artistic imagination for children, as well as the opportunity to gain knowledge and artistic competences of people interested in art.

The workshops are free of charge. Due to the limited number of places, pre-registration is required at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKSHOPS

During each workshop, introductions to the topic of the classes are given. The right questions and exercises stimulate the imagination and creative thinking to make it easier to carry out tasks or understand the issues. Each workshop is accompanied by selected reproductions of artists' works, which are the main inspiration for many artistic activities, help to illustrate issues, introduce them to the world of art by interpreting them and referring to them in tasks.

An inseparable element of the meetings is a sketchbook in which participants carry out some of the tasks, make notes, enter new words and paste miniature reproductions of works by artists shown during the classes. We document our activities by photographing the works made and the collections created from them. We send photos to participants after the workshops.

The workshops develop creative thinking, emotional intelligence (self-awareness, empathy, learning about emotions, assertiveness), social behavior (cooperation, respect for someone's work and space) and can broaden knowledge in various fields (not only in fine arts). Our goal is to educate the emotional reception of artistic phenomena, to shape creative attitudes and the ability to express them, and to develop creativity in the field of artistic activity.

FIRST CYCLE

We familiarize participants with the basic means of artistic expression. We observe the external (nature) and internal (emotions) world, and translate the impressions into artistic activities. Through conversations and questions that stimulate the imagination, we make it easier to get acquainted with the topic and carry out tasks.

Line

A talk about the line. Searching for various traces of lines, expressing emotions and line movement. Interpretation of own and selected artists' works. Through exercises showing movement and emotions, we discover compositions - static and dynamic, which we consolidate when creating installations from a string. At the end, participants will learn about the sketchbook function.
