AToy for Children’s Day!

Date of event: 08.06.2019

Children's Day is one of the best days of the year for all kids.
But are you sure for everyone? Children with mobility disabilities often do not have the opportunity to play with ordinary toys – how would they turn on a toy with a small button when they have both hands paralysed? They do not get gifts adapted to their needs and possibilities on this day, because hardly anyone knows how to overcome such difficulties. However, this year we want to make the Children's Day special for all children.

generAACja - The Foundation for Always Accessible Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) cordially invites children with motor disabilities and their parents on June 8th, 2019 to Galeria Bronowice for the event – AToy for Children's Day!

For this one and many more days for forty children we want to bring a smile on their faces thanks to independent play with customized toys that we have prepared for them!!
For those who already have their switches the choice of adapted toys will be also waiting. For the twenty children who haven’t got their switches yet, MAXI sets will be waiting, covering not only the toy but also the switch (a special button enabling the toy to run, even by the children with very small movement possibilities).

The event’s program also includes three rounds of workshops for parents, concerning the adaptation of toys, the role of independent play in the development of children and their communication, as well as the possibilities that the assistive technology (AT) provides to children. Workshops begin at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
During the entire event, specialists from "generAACja" will be happy to answer your questions regarding alternative and assistive communication (AAC) and assistive technology (AT).
